The house was designed to be cost effective, this simple cube form is more solid at the entry and opens up to the rear yard. The roof is simple and flat, sloping towards the rear. This simple form is extended at the ground floor along the adjacent property lines to take advantage of existing setback allowances.

The purple wall which supports the stair is held away from the ceiling to allow the light from above to spill into the stair and adjacent living room. The stair becomes a steel light tracery as it rises above the purple wall to free up the light from above.
